Inside BronyCon 2018

(Psst! Before you read the blog, be sure to check out my vlog and footage reel from BronyCon 2018 on my YouTube channel, where I film a lot of the panels and talk about my experiences at BronyCon!)

Hey every pony! This is a post that was due months ago, yet with life getting in the way, here I am posting it now. Back at the end of July I went to BronyCon 2018 in Baltimore, Maryland. It was kind of a spontaneous decision. I was not a hardcore “My Little Pony” fan like many of the attendees at the convention, yet I was a fan so I decided to attend anyway. I only began liking the show and its characters last fall, when my boyfriend and I went to go see the movie in theaters as a joke. However, I ended up really enjoying it. After the movie, I went home and watched all 7 seasons on Netflix and even started my own collection of “My Little Pony” merchandise and memorabilia. So when I discovered this convention in Baltimore that is home to thousands of attendees each year, I decided to buy a plane ticket, and away we went! This year, the event ran from Friday, July 27th until Sunday, July 29th at the Baltimore Convention Center in downtown Baltimore. 5,465 was the number of people in attendance, which is noted to be significantly lower than in previous years.

As many of the die-hard fans of the convention know, it was announced at the closing ceremonies that 2019 will be BronyCon’s final year. It will consist of a 4 day convention, as opposed to the usual 3 days. When it was announced that the convention was coming to its end, a lot of the fans in the center were in tears. People were crying in hysterics, hugging each other, even singing the “My Little Pony” TV show theme song with the Equestria flag held up, hands on their hearts and everything. Seriously, it was a thing. I will definitely be there in attendance for 2019. I mean, I started my first year with the second last year. It makes sense to go to the final one. It’s like being apart of a piece of history. I foresee it being a pretty emotional weekend, but hopefully the BronyCon team puts together something epic seeing as it is the last one ever. (That we know of).

Jacob and I had tons of fun. We booked a room for 4 nights at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel, which was a little pricey for the outdated look of the hotel’s rooms. Being Canadians, we tried Chick-fil-A for the first time. I really liked it, but Jacob became obsessed, basically wanting it for every meal we had. Some of the time we spent walking around downtown, looking at the harbor, going out to eat, or venturing into the little shops. The other time we spent at the convention itself, of course.

One of BronyCon’s perks is that each year, they have a variety of guests who have some sort of relation to the show that come and do panels, autographs, and take pictures with fans. This can include: voice actors, animators, writers, or community guests, like YouTubers and bloggers. In 2018 they had a list of star-studded guests, like Tony Award winner Lena Hall and a bunch of the voices from “My Little Pony”. Being the fangirl that I am, of course I had to take pictures with some of my favorites! I met Michelle Creber, the voice of Apple Bloom; Tabitha St. Germain, the voice of Rarity and Princess Luna; and Peter New, the voice of Big Mac. I got an autographed poster from each of them, and a signed copy of Michelle’s latest CD, “On Display”. The cast of the show were all super sweet, and it was cool that they were all Canadians, from Vancouver, British Columbia. It made us feel at home. Tabitha said to us as we were all taking a picture together: “Get close, it’s a Canadian sandwich.” In her Rarity voice, of course. Michelle was friendly, and I was so amazed at how successful she is for being only 18 years old. I asked her how she manages it all and deals with her success. She told me: “It’s a lot of hard work, but it’s all worth it.” Peter New was probably the funniest of them all, with a blunt, sarcastic sense of humor. I told him I had a crush on his character, Big Mac, and that I didn’t understand what makes his girlfriend, Sugar Belle so special. After that, he said to me in the voice of Big Mac: “You could be Sugar Belle.” Sounds good to me!

One of the days, I tried to do a cosplay of Rarity but I failed horribly. I bought a skirt that I transformed into a dress and stitched Rarity’s diamond cutie mark pattern on, which was the only redeeming quality of the entire look. I ran out of purple hairspray so I had to use pink, which dried out my hair and made it look nothing like Rarity’s. I messed up on the makeup too. It was just a train wreck and a bad idea all around. For BronyCon 2019, I’m either going all out, or not bothering dressing up like a character at all. At least I got these cool pony ears and unicorn horn combination.

Although I wasn’t a major fan and didn’t know much about the community so therefore didn’t really feel like I “fit in” much per se, the people who I did meet were extremely nice, friendly, and welcoming. One of the great things about this convention is they give you a landyard and three different tags you can choose to attach to your landyard, called “Communication Cards”. Green means you want to engage in conversation and meet new friends, yellow means you only want to talk to people you know, and red means you do not want to talk. Attendees pick which one they feel comfortable with, and fellow attendees must honor their wishes (or security gets involved). I think this is a great idea to help not only prevent harassment, but also to help people feel more comfortable going to the convention, especially if they are usually introverted.

A large majority of the attendees dressed up and some of the costumes were outrageously good. Some even wore an entire mascot-eqsue suit. I imagine it must have gotten pretty warm being stuck in that all day. I met Scootaloo! That was one of the highlights of the entire weekend.

6

All in all, BronyCon 2018 was an amazing experience and I highly recommend any “My Little Pony” fan to come out to Baltimore, Maryland for the very last BronyCon in August 2019. Apparently the staff is closing BronyCon because the numbers in attendance are declining drastically, and they do not wish to go back to their smaller roots. Although I understand this, I feel sympathy towards those who went every single year to the event, made friends and memories each year, who had one place to be themselves and not be judged, and now all of that is being taken away from them. If you’re one of those people reading this right now, then I must say to you: I’m sorry, and I hope you make BronyCon 2019 your most memorable year yet!

BronyCon is the destination for all “My Little Pony” fans. With their panels, marketplace, guests, contests, and more, it is a dream come true for any fans of any generations of the show. Thanks for checking out my blog every pony! I hope everyone has a great day and that I see all of your faces at BronyCon 2019! XOXO

Social Media: Stars on the Rise

dahldiggy

Ten years ago, the terms “YouTuber” or “social media influencer” didn’t seem to exist. If you told someone your career was uploading weekly videos to the world wide web, or that posting a photo of yourself would earn you thousands of dollars, it would seem almost impossible to believe, wouldn’t it? Fast-forward to 2018—now, there are thousands upon thousands of people who call social media their full-time job, some of these people achieving fame and fortune for their content. How did the internet create so many possibilities for these individuals? Why are so many of these social media enthusiasts becoming idolized by viewers they’ve never met? And how likely is it that your videos can become the next viral hit?

The majority of these content creators are found from posting videos on the popular website known as “YouTube” (where virtually anyone, anywhere can publish a video of almost anything). YouTube was founded in the year of 2005 but didn’t become the worldwide phenomenon we know of today until late 2006 when it was purchased by multi-billion-dollar company, Google. The type of content published on YouTube varies. Some popular YouTubers who started at zero subscribers and earned their way up to being in the top percentile are as follows: Shane Dawson, a comedian on YouTube who posts conspiracy theories, vlogs, and sketches began his YouTube career in 2006 and currently sits at 15,000,000 subscribers; Tana Mongeau, a twenty-year-old female who posts videos telling stories of her life, started posting videos only three years ago and is now at over 3,000,000 subscribers; and newcomer 17-year-old Emma Chamberlain who has only been posting videos for one year, is set to pass 4,000,000 subscribers by the end of the summer. Other notable YouTube celebrities include Rosanna Pansino, who earned over 10,000,000 subscribers posting cooking videos; Zoella, who earned over 12,000,000 subscribers by creating beauty and fashion videos; and the most subscribed to person on all of YouTube, PewDiePie, who has a whopping 64,000,0000 subscribers and over 18,000,000,000 views on his channel by posting gaming videos.

How did they do it? How tangible is it for your channel or Instagram page to hit these astronomical numbers? A lot of the time, these social media stars have one thing in common—luck. Luck isn’t the only factor, though, as hard work, motivation, and determination also have a key to play in creating your social media success story. Each of these internet celebrities kept goals and achieved them by doing simple things creating a weekly posting schedule (and sticking to it), opening other accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to stay relevant on each platform, and most importantly, being consistent in the content you create. For example—an Instagram star who is in the fitness industry is not likely to create content about video games, and vice versa. Developing a niche and expanding on it is the best way to find devoted and dedicated viewers for your content. Some social media influencers appear to grow big numbers overnight, whereas others may take years of developing their skills and content to see their audience expand.

The last and final question is, why are these people earning so many viewers daily and what sets them apart from mainstream celebrities? Social media stars—like previously mentioned—start from zero subscribers, start from zero followers, and start at zero views. They are regular people who were able to make something out of their zany, sarcastic, funny, and likeable personalities. Musicians and actors may have all these traits too, but one main reason why so many people are developing a fondness to a social media star over a mainstream celebrity, is that of the personal connection you can feel with the person. Social media stars make videos for their viewers about their lives, especially by filming vlogs—some YouTubers even make their videos feel like a one-on-one chat with their viewers. A social media star is more likely to reply to comments, like “tweets” on Twitter, or follow their fans on Instagram. There’s some sort of indescribable bond between stars on social media and their viewers—perhaps because the viewer is what makes it all possible for the social media influencer. After all, without the viewers, there would be no platform for social media stars to post on, would there be?

Whether you are a creator yourself, are on the bandwagon and support social media stars, or still don’t really understand the concept, one thing can be said—social media stars are on the rise, and it seems like there’s no stopping the demand for them anytime soon.

GLAMGLOW x My Little Pony Glitter Masks

pony3 (1)

Two of my favorite things just came together for an ultimate collaboration. GLAMGLOW has partnered up with Hasbro’s My Little Pony to make an amazing new GRAVITYMUD™ glitter mask! The masks come in three different colors (or characters).

Pinkie Pie (pink glitter mask), Princess Twilight Sparkle (purple glitter mask) and Princess Luna (black glitter mask). These masks are sold at Sephora and retail at $75.00 CAD or $59.00 USD each. Is the price worth it? I definitely say yes.

mask

Aside from the mask’s obvious charm, the masks work great and smell absolutely wonderful. The scent reminds me of a summery tropical smell, like pineapples and coconuts. Sort of like a piña colada. Each masks comes with an instruction booklet, the mask, a rubber applicator, and a page of awesome My Little Pony stickers!

This mask claims to: firm, lift, tight, tone, and give you a sexy contour. The net weight of the mask is 1.7 oz or 50 ml. You only need a thin layer of the mask to do the trick. Let sit for 30 minutes or until dry and then voilà! Peel off the mask and reveal your fresh, lifted, toned skin.

pony2 (1)

Another cool thing about these glitter masks, is there’s little star specks in the masks along with the glitter. I find they’re mostly visible in the Princess Luna (black) mask.

These masks are limited edition and will only be available for a short time!

I did a thorough review of all three masks on my YouTube channel. The video goes live at 3:00 PM EST today! Make sure to give it a thumbs up if you’ve enjoyed it and subscribe to my channel if you haven’t already.

A New Leaf Has Been Turned

Hello bloggers:

As everyone is preparing for Easter this weekend and the festivities it involves, I hope we all have a great time and the Easter bunny brings us lots of treats. Tonight as I sit here writing this entry, I am very proud of myself because it is something that I wanted to write for the past 2 years now.

As some of you may know, I have a YouTube channel that I began 3 years ago. I started it off with gaming videos, animations, and fun challenges that I did with my boyfriend. But back in 2016, I lost the passion to continue on with my channel. When I first started my channel, I played the game “Five Nights at Freddy’s”, which was a horror survival game. I began making animations using the characters from that game. I got nearly 30,000 subscribers, over 13,000,000 views on all of those videos, and many fans. I would get fan art, people saying they want to meet me, and people saying I was their favorite YouTuber.

So what went wrong, you may ask?

I noticed that people didn’t really watch my videos for me. They didn’t like me; they weren’t a fan of me; they were a fan of the video game. They liked the animations, they liked the game plays, they liked the game itself. Whenever I would upload another video, say a challenge video or a story time, it would get as many dislikes as likes. It would get 100 views whereas my other videos had over 2 million views. Why was this happening? I asked myself for so long. Then the answer came: my channel became a channel for “Five Nights at Freddy’s”. I was no longer in control of my channel; it was in control of me. When I posted another type of video, comments would flock in saying I needed to go back to the other videos. So I did. I became miserable and resentful of YouTube.

At one point, it was amazing. It was fun, I had a lot of passion for it and it was wonderful. I was making a decent paycheck every month from the ad money I was receiving on my videos, and life was great. But as months went on, it got dull. I did not like where it was heading. I wanted to be in control of my channel again, to make things that I wanted to make. And I couldn’t.

For fear of the hate. For fear of the disapproval. For fear of the unsubscribers.

I stopped making videos. Biweekly videos turned into 2 videos per year. I envied YouTubers who had fun making their videos, got to be themselves and had an audience that respected them and followed them on their journey.

Something in me snapped at the beginning of March. I didn’t know what it was. It just snapped. I had a mini breakdown and I realized: This life is short. I want to make videos that I want to make. I no longer want to be constrained by the audience that only wants me to make videos that I no longer have any passion or interest in whatsoever. So I went to the store and bought a brand new camera. I planned out what I was going to say, sat down, and filmed it. I was so nervous it took me until now to finally upload it. The response was better than I imagined. Some people were disappointed, but the others understood. I was so afraid to take this initial step and say to my audience: “This is me. This is what I am doing now.” But I did, and I’ve never felt so happy.

At the end of the day, I am a super girly, super loud 20 year old girl. I have a blog, a book, a (surprisingly enough) Famous Birthdays profile and a brand that I adhere myself to. But search up my name in Google and there you have it: pictures of animated robotic chickens all over the place. How embarrassing! Not my image nor brand at all.

Collaborations were turned down because no one wanted to work with me. Not because my content wasn’t good, but I wanted to work with people whose videos were the type I wanted to make, but didn’t. Our channels were totally different. Go to my channel and see animations from “Five Nights at Freddy’s”, in which were pretty lame if I do say so myself . . .  well, it wasn’t promising in this line of work. Even if I were to make a new video, like I said, my audience would thumb it down so quick I couldn’t even have time to think about what went wrong. Comments would desperately exclaim: “Go back to your old content!”

A new leaf has been turned over. This is finally me. Victoria Hecnar, making the videos I wanted to make from the very beginning. Blogging about what I wanted to blog about, from the very beginning.

Now that I am on my way to building a brand and image for myself that I can be proud of, you’re going to see a lot more than me! I’m going to be uploading weekly videos, writing weekly blog posts, and updating my Instagram a lot more than before (yup, no more photo per 6 months!) This year, starting now, is going to be about my passions and going forward, I am no longer doing things for the numbers or for the interests of others.

There are thousands of other animated videos out there, and my channel will no longer be one of them. It was an incredible journey, but this has to be done. I am doing this for me and for my well-being.

A new leaf has been turned.

January Favorites 2018

Untitled 1

Good evening bloggers and happy February! Last month was a long one, and in that month I picked up some new beauty products that quickly have turned into some of my faves. From primers to lip glosses to candles, here’s some of my selections from the month of January 2018.

20180131_233428

NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray

I am always looking for a good setting spray to finish my makeup with, and a lot of people were raving about this one. It’s inexpensive and awesome quality, holding your makeup in place for hours. You can choose between a matte finish or a dewy finish. Click here to purchase.

20180131_23345020180131_23350320180131_233532

PÜR Nude Lip Kit

Definitely my fave out of all of these faves. It comes with a lip liner, lip stick, and a lip gloss all in a nude shade. The lip stick and lip gloss have a mirror attached to it, and the lip gloss even has its own light when you twist the cap off. They make your lips so big and beautiful. It’s definitely a must have for all beauty lovers. Click here to purchase.

20180131_233721

Fenty Beauty Universal Lip Gloss

Rihanna made this lip gloss in one shade for all shades, so it looks great with against every skin tone. The color is Fenty Glow. It has an amazing flavor and goes on beautifully. The only flaw it has though, is it does not last long at all. But it still makes it on this list for being a great lip gloss overall. Click here to purchase.

20180204_220710

Spark x Iskra Self-Care Kit

This cute kit was created by Spark and model Iskra Lawrence and sold by Aerie/American Eagle Outfitters. Its box is adorable and covered in little pictures that look like stickers on your iPhone. (Actually, you can get these as stickers on the American Eagle app.) It comes with a sweet, pretty scented candle, a candy scented bath bomb, and a silky sleep mask that proclaims you the Queen of Naps. This kit is adorable, useful, and all of the items are super fun. Click here to purchase.

20180205_204604

Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation

All my life I have been trying foundation after foundation, trying to see what worked for me and nothing has come along as great as this foundation. I use the 2.0 shade. Click here to purchase.

20180205_204655

Lise Watier Base Miracle Primer

The description for this product states: “By creating a film-like effect over the skin’s surface, this silky primer conceals minor flaws, reduces the appearance of pores, evens out the skin tone, and mattifies skin where it tends to shine”. This primer is very similar to Smashbox’s primers which I am also quite fond of, but I decided to give this one a try. It makes your makeup look perfect. Click here to purchase.

Thanks for reading loves ❤

Christmas & Winter Lush Haul 2017

It’s that time of year again  . . .

Christmas & Winter Lush Haul!

Lush is by far one of my favorite stores to shop in. As I’ve said before, they’re made from all natural materials, are against animal testing, are fair trade . . . What’s not to like? In this 2017 edition of Lush’s Christmas/winter items, it gets crazy good with new “Snow Fairy” items, and more!

20171207_160619

First, we’ll start off with my favorite fragrance from Lush, “Snow Fairy”. It’s a seasonal scent, so it only comes around Christmastime, meaning I want to buy everything I can in the fragrance! I didn’t include the “Snow Fairy” bath bombs; those are listed below. But here’s the top selling “Snow Fairy” products at Lush:

  1. Snow Fairy Shower Gel: One of the most popular items. It smells like cotton candy, bubblegum, and sugar all mixed in together. It’s such a girly, feminine fragrance. There’s little specs of glitter in the shower gel, meaning you’ll smell amazing and also shine each time you use it.
  2. Snow Fairy Body Conditioner: Made with mango butter and vegetarian glycerin, this body conditioner is made specifically for dry, winter skin in need of moisture. The cool part about this (other than being cotton candy scented), is you use it in the shower or bath. Rub it on your skin, then rinse off with water. It makes your skin feel fabulous.
  3. Snow Fairy Scented Fairy Dust: This fairy dust is to be used after taking a shower or a bath. Dust yourself with this powder and watch your skin transform. Your skin will be lightly fragranced and shining bright.
  4. Snow Fairy Fun Bar: Like the other “FUN” bars, this one is scented with “Snow Fairy” and comes with three pieces that you can use as a soap, shampoo, or bubble bath. It’s texture is like clay, and can lather up nicely if you take a piece and rub it in your hands. Alternatively, run it under water to create a relaxing, luxurious bubble bath (my personal fave).
  5. Santa’s Belly Shower Jelly: This one is scented with “Santa’s Belly”, a spicier fragrance than the “Snow Fairy”. The shower jelly is this gooey blob that looks like fun to play with, but it’s actually a great cleanser for your skin. Wet the jelly, lather up, and rinse. It’s covered with gold glitter pieces to make you in the holiday spirit.

20171207_160529

Next we have the collection of  winter 2017 bath bombs and bubble bars! Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to grab the “Giant Golden Wonder” bomb before it went out of stock. Here’s hoping I’ll get lucky next year!

  1. Candy Mountain Bubble Bar: This one is scented with “Snow Fairy”, of course.
  2. Magic Wand: Also scented with “Snow Fairy”, and as you can see by the picture, it’s super shimmery as well. It comes with a sparkly silver bow and a little bell. Run it under your bath, and watch your tub transform before your very eyes.
  3. Snow Fairy Bath Bomb: This bath bomb is a jelly bomb, so once your bath bomb fizzes up, the jelly disperses, making your bath super soft and skin really smooth. And, the jelly is fun and slimy. Who’s to say only kids can play in the bathtub?
  4. Thundersnow Bath Bomb: This Earth looking bath bomb is mint chocolate scented. It’s like bathing in a cup of minty hot chocolate. Yummy.
  5. Christmas Sweater Bath Bomb: Almost as satisfying as an ugly Christmas sweater itself. It’s spicy cinnamon scented, reminding me of those hot cinnamon candies you get on Valentine’s Day. How sweet it is.
  6. Golden Wonder Bath Bomb: Just like it’s advertised on Lush’s website: “Bathe in liquid gold.” It’s citrus, sparkly, and the perfect Christmastime bath bomb. And the Giant Golden Wonder Bath Bomb is over five times its size. This one is 200 grams, whereas the giant one is a whopping 1100 grams.

Untitled 2Untitled 4unnamed

These ones I actually just picked up this evening. They had a buy one get one free sale, and how can I refuse such an offer? These little guys are as follows:

  1. Santa’s Christmas Naked Shower Cream: This one is great, and I am so happy I found it. There were only three left when I arrived at the mall, so I came just in time. It’s cherry cola scented. Cherry. Cola. Another one of my absolute favorite scents and flavors of all time. It may not be pretty or shiny like Lush’s other products, but the creamy lather you get from using it in the shower paired up with the sweet sugary scent make up for it.
  2. My Two Front Teeth Bubble Bar: Confused about what exactly it is that you’re looking at? Think of the song. “All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth, my two front teeth, my two front teeth . . .” You are looking at a pair of lips and two ginormous front teeth, because who else would think of that except for Lush?!
  3. Oatifix Fresh Face Mask: Not a Christmas/winter exclusive, but a great face mask for dry skin. I bought this one for my boyfriend, who has dry skin as it is, and in the winter gets even worse from the dry air.
  4. BB Seaweed Fresh Face Mask: Also not a Christmas/winter only item, but I bought it for my skin to invigorate and freshen up my face. This mask is perfect for all skin types, from oily, to dry, to normal, to combo skin.

I absolutely love all of these Lush products! What other ones should I try next?

My Trip To Alberta, Canada ❄❄❄

Good evening!

I hope everyone’s Christmas went great, and that you’re all looking forward to the new year! I have some pretty cool stuff coming up in the new year that I’m excited to show you guys, but until then, I’ll be making a few more blog posts!

Last month, I had the privilege of traveling to Alberta, Canada for work. I’ve been before when I was 13, but haven’t been since. Although it’s extremely cold there, I have to say, it’s much of a nicer place than where I live. The people are much nicer in Alberta, the scenery is just gorgeous, and there’s a lot to do and see. We were in Jasper, Alberta and Edmonton, Alberta. In Jasper is where we saw all of the mountains, lakes, and animals (including the cute little caribou in the picture below). In Edmonton, we went to the West Edmonton Mall, which is the biggest shopping centre in Canada. They’ve got plenty of stores, an ice rink, a water park, an amusement park, hotels with themed rooms, and more. Since we were mostly busy with work, we didn’t have much time to do a lot at the mall but we got to go on a roller coaster and go out to eat which was pretty fun.

There’s some photos I took below. Have you ever visited Alberta?

Summer & Fall Lush Haul 2017

Good evening bloggers! I’ve decided to share with you some of my fave Lush products from mid to late 2017. Of course I will be heading soon to Lush to stock up on the wintertime and Christmas goodies, but for now, here’s some of my favorites that I’ve picked up from August to October 2017.

1.) Rainbow Bath Oils

20170317_00392520170317_003943

There are so many reasons that I love these little bath tablets. Not only do they smell fabulous, but there are so many uses for them, and they support a great cause. You can use them as a shampoo, a body wash, or as a bubble bath. Since there are seven of them, they last quite a long time, and each one comes with a unique fruity fragrance. Plus, each one sold donates some of the profits to Japanese children who are living in unsafe conditions and unable to play outside. 2.) August 2017 Haul

20170817_234827

This haul included many different items, including:

  • Pink Bath Bomb
  • Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds Bubble Bar
  • Yellow Submarine Bath Bomb
  • Karma Bubble Bar
  • Scrubee Body Scrub Bar
  • Chocolate Lip Scrub
  • Bling Toothpaste Tablets

I love Lush because not only are their products all natural and against animal testing, but they are also incredibly unique. Rather than the waste toothpaste can create, their toothy tablets are a great alternative to standard toothpaste. The chocolate lip scrub works wonders, and all of the bath products are fantastically fragrant and make your skin feel soft and smooth after a nice, relaxing bath. All of these products get a thumbs up from me.

3.) September 2017 Haul

My September haul consisted of lots of products I have never tried before, including their masks for hands and salted coconut body scrub. The products I tried are as follows:

  • Rosy Cheeks Face Mask
  • Golden Handshake Hand Mask
  • Salted Coconut Body Scrub
  • Cheer Up Buttercup Bath Bomb
  • Rocket Science Bath Bomb
  • Yuzu and Cocoa Bubble Bar

Unlike other face masks, the Rosy Cheeks mask actually made my skin tingle. It felt so nice and made my skin look so bright and refreshed afterwards. Now, I haven’t actually gotten around to using the hand mask yet, but the salted coconut scrub is the ultimate scrub for your skin, especially dry hands. And, as always, the bath products were amazing. I loved the Yuzu and Cocoa bubble bar; it had such an amazing chocolaty yet sweet fragrance.

4.) October 2017 Haul

How cute are these? By far, the holiday ones (Halloween and Christmas) are the most clever designs. These cuties are:

  • Monster’s Ball Bath Bomb
  • Pumpkin Bath Bomb
  • Bewitched Bubble Bar
  • Ectoplasm Bath Bomb

You may still be able to find these at Lush, but probably not. All the Christmas stock has taken over; but hey, you might get lucky. These Halloween bath bombs are scary good, with sweet fragrances and cute designs.

That’s all for this haul. Stay tuned soon for my haul of winter and Christmas 2017 Lush goodies!

Until next time,

Giant Rubber Ducks

Hi bloggers!

This summer was a lot of fun, and one of the things that I got to do was go to a festival that had a giant rubber duck on display. Seriously. It’s pointless and amazing. Despite all the controversy of whether or not we really need a $200,000 duck floating across the Canadian lakes this summer, they did it anyway, and I am so happy they did. I mean, look at this thing:

The duck is six stories tall and weighs over 13,600 kilograms. The duck also has a quaking noise played on repeat to give it a more lifelike essence. This duck has probably traveled more than you have. It’s gone all over the world, adorning bodies of water to its humbled onlookers. And yes, Jacob and I were there to bask in all of its glory.

So, what do you think? Giant rubber duck: Yay or Nay?

I personally love the idea. It’s random, weird, and adorable. I loved meeting the giant rubber duck this summer! xoxo
