Top 5 Favorite Blogs

FotoJet (7)

Back in 2015, I made a small list of my favorite three bloggers. I intended to do it again but unfortunately forgot about it until now (five years later, I suck, I’m sorry). Some of them have stayed the same because my taste has mostly remained the same, but I have included a few new ones in there for you to check out! I mostly follow lifestyle and fashion blogs but I am always interested in broadening my blog list. If you have any blogs that you think I should take a look at, please leave the link in the comment section! I am always down to discover new favorites.

#1.) Zoella

FotoJet (3)

Zoella (whose real name is Zoe Sugg) was first on my last list too, and she still remains there to this day. Some of you may recognize Zoella as a YouTuber with eleven million (whaaat?!) subscribers, but she began her journey to fame as a small lifestyle blogger back in 2009 when she was working a job she hated (sound familiar?). Now in addition to her online persona, Zoella has extended her brand into a makeup line, a clothing line, and even a line of products for your home! Zoella is the definition of a boss babe and I love reading her blog. She posts recipes, style and beauty tips, and everything else to appease the modern woman.

Find her at https://www.zoella.co.uk/.

#2.) Fat Mum Slim

FotoJet (4)

Another blogger that made it from 2015’s list to 2020’s list of my favorite bloggers is a woman named Chantelle who blogs under the name Fat Mum Slim. Now, I don’t have kids (thankfully) but this blogging mom can be appealing to women at any age and life experience. She does blog about a lot of family related matters but her humorous and bright personality make them entertaining to read, even for those of us without children of our own. She also posts yummy recipes, life tips, and she is probably most known for her “Photo A Day” challenge which has accumulated over 23 million participants worldwide.

Find her at https://www.fatmumslim.com.au/.

#3.) Flip and Style

FotoJet (2)

The next blog is the most aesthetically pleasing website I have ever laid my eyes on. Flip and Style is managed by a young woman named Vanessa who has a keen eye for everything feminine and pink. As someone who is quite fond of the color pink, her blog instantly stood out above the rest. I stumbled across her blog one evening while trying to find girly wallpapers for my iPhone, and ended up spending the next couple of hours on her website, fascinated with both its content and appearance. As you may have guessed it, Flip and Style is a fashion blog. One of Vanessa’s quotes are:

“My main aim in life is to make everything around me positive and beautiful.”

She is definitely accomplishing that goal with Flip and Style. Also, isn’t that name just super fun to say?

Find her at https://www.flipandstyle.com/.

#4.) Lauren Conrad

FotoJet (5)

Who remembers Lauren Conrad from the television show The Hills? Or perhaps her book series L.A. Candy? Lauren Conrad has been a fashion icon since 2004 when she first appeared in the television show Laguna Beach, and she has been shining ever since. Her lifestyle blog has a little bit of everything, so no matter who you are or what you’re into, you’ll find something interesting on Lauren’s blog. Lauren posts lifestyle tips, recipes, and is an advocate for the Black Lives Matter movement. She recently posted a couple blog posts about diversity and how to educate ourselves on systemic racism.

Find her at https://www.laurenconrad.com/.

#5.) Planner Perfect

FotoJet (6)

Just recently I came across the blog Planner Perfect, and thus far I have been really enjoying it. It’s definitely different than most blogs I read (in a good way). A woman named Jenny runs Planner Perfect in hopes to help individuals lead a more organized and productive lifestyle. In essence, the blog is literally a digital planner that can help you stay on track, also giving lots of great tips and tricks. There are recipes, tips for success, and hacks written to help you live your best life. If you want to get organized and have fun doing it, then look no further! Planner Perfect has got you covered.

Find her at https://www.plannerperfect.com/.

Thanks for reading! Hopefully you have added a few of these on your list of blogs to read. Feel free to drop links to your favorite blogs in the comments that you think I should check out!

Too Faced “Peach Perfect” Review

tooface

Good evening bloggers and happy springtime! Finally, the sun is shining and the weather is starting to warm up. Goodbye coats and scarfs, and hello to t-shirts and sunglasses!

Recently, I decided to try the Peach Perfect line by the brand Too Faced. Too Faced happens to be one of my most favorite cosmetic lines on the planet, so I was super excited to try this one. All of the items are peach scented. Just note, I did not have the chance to try out all of the products from this collection. Right after these were purchased, they released their Peach Perfect lip balms and lip scrubs, as well as eye shadows and lipsticks. However, I was able to grab their foundation, setting powder, primer, setting spray, and one of the eye shadow palettes.

Without further ado, let’s get started!

Primer

insta-editor.com

The Primed & Peachy primer was awesome. Not only does it smell terrific with its peaches-and-cream-esque scent, but it was so smooth and easy to apply. The cooling matte formula was not heavy, but a light formula, making it feel light and cool on your skin, leaving your skin and pores free to breathe. I found my makeup lasted a lot longer while wearing this, and gave it a matte appearance.

Foundation

insta-editor.com (1)

The foundation I purchased was in the shade Light Beige. Now, although overall I thought that this was indeed a good product, there were some cons as well. It says transfer resistant on the package, but I found that when wearing it, it would come off easily onto clothes, even with the application of a setting powder and spray. I also prefer a more full coverage foundation, so although this made my skin look fantastic, it did not cover as much as I generally would like. The pros? Like all of the other products, the sweet, peachy smell is wonderful. Most foundations are not scented, so it is a refreshing change to be wearing such a sweet perfume on your face. Not only did this product give me a great complexion and tone, but the product itself is very bright looking and gave my skin a radiant effect.

Setting Powder

Similar to the foundation, the setting powder gives a wonderfully radiant, glamorous, and glowing look. It also mattifyed any shiny or oily skin that the foundation did not cover. The powder is light and airy, so it does not weigh your makeup down.

Purchase here: https://www.sephora.com/ca/en/product/peach-perfect-mattifying-setting-powder-peaches-cream-collection-P422448?icid2=products%20grid:p422448:product

Setting Spray

insta-editor.com (3)

After your whole look is complete, make sure to finish it off with the Peach Mist mattifying setting spray. This spray reminded me of another setting spray by Too Faced which is the Hangover setting spray. Both provide a smooth finish and a long lasting effect. With this product, my makeup would last pretty much throughout the day without creasing or wiping off. I wouldn’t say it’s the best setting spray that I have ever used, but I definitely still liked it!

Purchase here: https://www.sephora.com/ca/en/product/peach-mist-mattifying-setting-spray-peaches-cream-collection-P422850?icid2=products%20grid:p422850:product

Eye Shadow Palette

insta-editor.com (4)

Lastly, I tried the White Peach multi-dimensional eye shadow palette. If you were wondering—yes, this too is peach scented. The shades range from matte to sparkly, and everything in between. This palette is the lighter version so all of the shades are on the softer end of the spectrum. The pigmentation is pretty good but not perfect, as it fades. Thought that is understandable as the colors are not as vibrant as other palettes. I still love this palette, especially Peach Ice, which is perfect to put on your waterline and in the corners of your eyelids to really make your eyes pop.

Bonus

insta-editor.com (5)

As a special bonus, I also wanted to share my absolutely favorite mascara of all time that will make any look complete. Yup, it’s the Better Than Sex mascara by none other than Too Faced! After trying this mascara a couple years back, I will never go to any other mascara again. It thickens, lengthens, and adds so much volume without the hassle of falsies. Plus, how cute is this limited edition packaging for their twentieth birthday?!

Purchase here: https://www.sephora.com/ca/en/product/better-than-sex-mascara-P381000?icid2=products%20grid:p381000:product

Thanks so much for reading! XOXO

What other Too Faced products should I try next?

Product Review: Sexy Red Lip Tint By “Romantic Bear” ♡

Romantic-Bear-Make-Up-12ml-Tint-WOW-Long-Lasting-Tint-Lip-Peel-Off-Lipstick-Fulllips-Lip

Today I’ll be reviewing a product for a lip tint in the colour sexy red by the brand “Romantic Bear”. You are supposed to smear the tint all over your lips, wait about ten minutes, peel it off, then it’s supposed to leave you with a beautiful natural looking colour. The price was good; only $1.00 per tube. You can get it on eBay for cheap. And from the reviews that I’ve seen, it works pretty great. But for some reason the one I bought was clumpy from the second I tried it. I can’t seem to make the substance more manageable to apply, so for that reason, I’m not as impressed by this product as I would like to be. For the price though, I cannot complain. It smells great and it looks good too. I would definitely buy again. For a more in depth review and to watch me apply it, please click the video posted down below.

Currently for October, the entire website is 40% off. Go check it out! Not only are their prices amazing, but their clothes and other accessories are also great, too. I’ll leave you guys with both a link to the website and the video to my review. Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! xoxo

What’s In My Bag?

All over YouTube and blogs I see girls doing a video, showcasing the items that they carry in their bags and totes. I thought it’d be fun to jump on the bandwagon and create my own bag tag video. This is for spring 2015. Here is what I carry in my bag at all times:

Enjoy! xx

Perfume Review: Taylor Swift’s “Taylor”

original_CW

Hello everybody, today I will be reviewing Taylor Swift’s “Taylor” perfume. A very creative and humble name, isn’t it? The box’s pattern makes it seem very elegant, and the font, and Taylor’s signature with the picture of the pretty little bottle. The first time I ever spray tested it at the drug store I thought it smelled kinda pretty, and it was also a strong scent. But then, I bought it. Oh, big mistake.

Her other perfumes such as “Wonderstruck” are absolutely gorgeous smelling. This one? Not so much. It isn’t overpowering like some scents or cheap smelling, it’s a very classy, soft smell, the scent of flowers is present. Typical perfumes consist of vanilla smells, candy smells, or flower smells, so right off the bat it’s your average perfume. Now, on to “Taylor” . . .

When I first opened up the box, I found the bottle to be quite cute. But as time went on, I noticed that my bottle was . . . rotting?! Literally, deteriorating. The top of the bottle where the gold colour is began to rust, where it should’ve been gold, it was completely black. It looked rusty and even the scent of the perfume began to smell expired at the top of it. (The fragrance in the actual bottle was still fine.) The top of my bottle began to pop off so easily, whereas it should have been glued on tightly, and unable to be pulled off like all other perfumes. But it was always teetering, and one day, just snapped off. Then you have that tacky pearl thingy around the top of the bottle. Why isn’t it glued on, and better quality?! Seriously, it looks like a five year old went to the dollar store, picked up some beads, grabbed some cheap string and put it all together. It falls off so easily, and to me, just wrecks the whole look of the bottle. So, yeah, the bottle is absolutely disgusting.

Now for the actual scent. Let’s just say that I am never buying this ever again. If you’re a hardcore Taylor Swift fan and like soft scents, then definitely buy this. But this is not the perfume for me. No matter how much I sprayed on, it wouldn’t last. Like five seconds, that’s it. Even Dollarama body mist I bought lasts hours. I’d go up to people saying, “Can you smell my perfume?” and they’d all say no. Then one day I switched to Chanel’s “Chance” and a bunch of people complimented me. So what? Is Taylor’s scent just so weak that it is unable to be smelled? Or did I just get a faulty bottle? Maybe the scent just doesn’t hold to me? I know every perfume is different due to the fact that it reacts differently on people’s skin, but come on. This is the first time this has ever happened with a perfume. There is NO scent to it. So weak, not noticeable at all. I watched a girl’s review on YouTube and she was booming about how long it lasted. Not for me it didn’t.

FINAL VERDICT: 6/10

I’ll give it a six out of ten just to be nice. Maybe other people will like it. I could’ve:

a) Got a faulty bottle.

b) Needed to put more on.

c) It’s just naturally a weak scent.

or

d) My skin doesn’t react to it.

I will never buy this again but I gave it a good rating because it’s a pretty bottle and box for the most part, and I am sure if it actually stuck to me I wouldn’t mind it. But the actual scent is just not for me. So if I was rating it solely on what I personally thought, we have a three out of ten.

ACTUAL FINAL VERDICT: 3/10

And there you have it, folks. Bye for now!

WATCH ME TALK ABOUT IT HERE:

Fashion 101

It’s time for a blog all about fashion. Clothes, hair, bags, you name it. I will be doing my top five for spring 2015. Comment on this post if you have any looks you want me to check out. xx

CLOTHES

tumblr_n1f8zlAXMw1s1skfmo1_500

Now I’m not actually a real big fan of Kendall and Kylie Jenner, but my jaw dropped when I saw this picture. I’m not sure what it was. Was it the way they’re looking up ahead so confidently, was it the shoes, the hair, the make-up, the wardrobe, the hair, the scenery, or just simply how stunning they are? Answer: all of the above! Seriously, they are just drop dead gorgeous in this picture. You guys are a straight ten out of ten!

DESIGNER BAGS

142463486511649

This bold white Michael Kors collection is beautiful. The bag, clutch wallet, and watch just go together so perfectly.

HAIR

tumblr_namtpsVXRo1r6wwjmo1_500

Springtime is all about fresh new changes and being bold. This gal demonstrates this beautifully in her posh picture with beautiful white leather chair in this state of the art salon. But what’s the best part, obviously, is her hair. It’s long, straight, silky, shiny, and the colour is absolutely to die for. Love how it starts off bright purple then slowly merges into a turquoise-esque blue. Love it!

TATTOO & EARRINGS

1409960135502412

I love how she got a flower tattooed around the perimeter of her diamond cartilage earring. It looks absolutely gorgeous!

NAILS

tumblr_ng48vfwPTv1r5y7tco1_500

Love her nails. She’s using the deep blue nail lacquer shade from the nail polish brand, “China Glaze”. And it looks great against her skin tone with her diamond ring on her hand in the background. Good job getting it so perfectly done and shiny!

So there you have it folks. Join me next time on my blog for some more fun! xx See you soon.

Mini Makeover

Untitled 1

Guess what?! I finally switched up my look a bit! I haven’t changed my hairstyle lately, so I was really getting bored. So I chopped off my hair several inches, dyed it black, and am wearing a tad bit more make up. I absolutely love it. ❤ I L-O-V-E black hair and the shortness of my hair makes it easier to manage! (My hair used to be past my butt now it’s just above my chest . . . I guess that would be considered long to some people still.)
