Top 5 Favorite Blogs

FotoJet (7)

Back in 2015, I made a small list of my favorite three bloggers. I intended to do it again but unfortunately forgot about it until now (five years later, I suck, I’m sorry). Some of them have stayed the same because my taste has mostly remained the same, but I have included a few new ones in there for you to check out! I mostly follow lifestyle and fashion blogs but I am always interested in broadening my blog list. If you have any blogs that you think I should take a look at, please leave the link in the comment section! I am always down to discover new favorites.

#1.) Zoella

FotoJet (3)

Zoella (whose real name is Zoe Sugg) was first on my last list too, and she still remains there to this day. Some of you may recognize Zoella as a YouTuber with eleven million (whaaat?!) subscribers, but she began her journey to fame as a small lifestyle blogger back in 2009 when she was working a job she hated (sound familiar?). Now in addition to her online persona, Zoella has extended her brand into a makeup line, a clothing line, and even a line of products for your home! Zoella is the definition of a boss babe and I love reading her blog. She posts recipes, style and beauty tips, and everything else to appease the modern woman.

Find her at https://www.zoella.co.uk/.

#2.) Fat Mum Slim

FotoJet (4)

Another blogger that made it from 2015’s list to 2020’s list of my favorite bloggers is a woman named Chantelle who blogs under the name Fat Mum Slim. Now, I don’t have kids (thankfully) but this blogging mom can be appealing to women at any age and life experience. She does blog about a lot of family related matters but her humorous and bright personality make them entertaining to read, even for those of us without children of our own. She also posts yummy recipes, life tips, and she is probably most known for her “Photo A Day” challenge which has accumulated over 23 million participants worldwide.

Find her at https://www.fatmumslim.com.au/.

#3.) Flip and Style

FotoJet (2)

The next blog is the most aesthetically pleasing website I have ever laid my eyes on. Flip and Style is managed by a young woman named Vanessa who has a keen eye for everything feminine and pink. As someone who is quite fond of the color pink, her blog instantly stood out above the rest. I stumbled across her blog one evening while trying to find girly wallpapers for my iPhone, and ended up spending the next couple of hours on her website, fascinated with both its content and appearance. As you may have guessed it, Flip and Style is a fashion blog. One of Vanessa’s quotes are:

“My main aim in life is to make everything around me positive and beautiful.”

She is definitely accomplishing that goal with Flip and Style. Also, isn’t that name just super fun to say?

Find her at https://www.flipandstyle.com/.

#4.) Lauren Conrad

FotoJet (5)

Who remembers Lauren Conrad from the television show The Hills? Or perhaps her book series L.A. Candy? Lauren Conrad has been a fashion icon since 2004 when she first appeared in the television show Laguna Beach, and she has been shining ever since. Her lifestyle blog has a little bit of everything, so no matter who you are or what you’re into, you’ll find something interesting on Lauren’s blog. Lauren posts lifestyle tips, recipes, and is an advocate for the Black Lives Matter movement. She recently posted a couple blog posts about diversity and how to educate ourselves on systemic racism.

Find her at https://www.laurenconrad.com/.

#5.) Planner Perfect

FotoJet (6)

Just recently I came across the blog Planner Perfect, and thus far I have been really enjoying it. It’s definitely different than most blogs I read (in a good way). A woman named Jenny runs Planner Perfect in hopes to help individuals lead a more organized and productive lifestyle. In essence, the blog is literally a digital planner that can help you stay on track, also giving lots of great tips and tricks. There are recipes, tips for success, and hacks written to help you live your best life. If you want to get organized and have fun doing it, then look no further! Planner Perfect has got you covered.

Find her at https://www.plannerperfect.com/.

Thanks for reading! Hopefully you have added a few of these on your list of blogs to read. Feel free to drop links to your favorite blogs in the comments that you think I should check out!

Christmas Cake Pops Recipe ✶

Happy holidays! With only nine days left remaining until Christmas, it’s the perfect time to bake some holiday goodies for you, your friends, and the whole family. These peppermint cake pops are perfect, as they serve up to fifteen people. They are delicious and easy to make, so turn up the Christmas tunes, and let’s get baking!

IMG_4414_Facetune_16-12-2018-11-56-45

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons of butter (2 for cake pop batter, 2 for frosting)
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of milk
  • 3 candy canes
  • 15 cake pop sticks
  • 200g of white chocolate
  • Cupcake or cake mix of your choice

Directions for Cake Pop Batter

  1. Preheat oven to 350 °F. Grease an 8 x 8 inch cake pan.
  2. Combine cupcake or cake mix, butter, water, and egg. Using an electric mixer, beat only until well-combined.
  3. Distribute batter into prepared pan and bake for 12-15 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  4. Remove from oven and cool completely.
  5. When cake has cooled, cut into quarters and crumble by hand into a large mixing bowl.

Directions for Frosting

  1. Using an electric mixer, beat butter on high for one minute, or until light and fluffy.
  2. Add powdered sugar and mix just until combined.
  3. Add milk and beat on high for one minute.

Directions for Cake Pops

  1. Add frosting to cake and mix together using an electric mixer util mixture can easily be shaped into balls.
  2. Roll cake into 15 balls and place on a waxed paper-lined plate before setting in a freezer for 20 minutes to firm and make assembly easier.
  3. When freezer time is almost finished, heat white chocolate in a microwave safe bowl just until melted, stirring every 30 seconds.
  4. Immediately remove cake balls from freezer. One at a time, take one cake pop stick and dip the end 1/2 inch into the melted white chocolate. Insert into cake ball.
  5. Dip cake pop into melted white chocolate and gently tap against side of bowl to remove excess. Work quickly as cake balls may start to soften.
  6. Crush candy canes into small, fine pieces into a bowl while coating is still warm and dip the top of the cake pops in to cover. Serve and enjoy!

My Fave Blogs

If you’re on the internet daily then odds are you have some blogs that are your absolute favourites. Here are a few bloggers that make me smile.

1.) Zoella

http://www.zoella.co.uk/

zoella

Sadly, Zoella doesn’t blog as much as she used to. Because now she’s on YouTube full time! At least this way we can see more of her beautiful face. Zoe Sugg—known famously as Zoella—is a British beauty and lifestyle blogger. She’s a fashionista and a beauty queen. Everything from her laugh, to her accent, to her eyes, to her smile (and mostly her hair) is just stunning. I could read her blogs all day! She’s got great advice, and keeps quite a stylish blog. Please post more often, Zoella!

2.) Fat Mum Slim

http://fatmumslim.com.au/

Yes, you read that right. A lot of people think Chantelle’s blog is “Fat Muslim”, but it’s “Fat Mum Slim.” Just take a second glance. Now I think a lot of families and mothers read her blog, but it’s not all family oriented. She’s got a lot of great advice regarding writing and blogging. She makes lists of things to blog about, recipes, blogging tips, and more. She’s one cool Australian lady!

3) Lisi Harrison

My contribution to #booksarentdangerous. Now show me yours. (via Twitter.com/lisiharrison) 📚🔪💁🏼

http:/www.lisiharrison.com

Lisi is actually one of my fave authors, and she just so happens to be the one who inspired me to start writing my books. So thanks, Lisi! She’s also gave me lots of writing advice before and even told me that I have a lovely website. She’s so sweet! She’s the author of lots of series such as “The Clique”, “The Alphas”, “Monster High”, “The Pretenders”, and one that not too many people know about considering she’s a young adult writer and this book is erotic, ‘The Dirty Book Club”. And yes, she is the one who invented the real “Monster High” that all of the children love today! Go check out her blog. She’s hilarious, spunky, sassy, sweet, and gives great advice and tips for girls.

Thus far I’m mainly a writer rather than a reader, this is why there is only three ladies on this list. However when I become passionate about more blogs, I shall let you guys know who to check out next! See you later! xoxo

The FNAF Button Contest: FAQ

Hello everyone! The FNAF button/pin contest has officially been closed since last weekend, and all of the winners are in! I had to make a second video because some of the first winners had not responded to me. Thus far, two out of the ten winners have not responded, so if they still haven’t in a week, a new video will be out until we find the winners who want it the most! A lot of my YouTube fans have been asking questions regarding the contest, so here you go for answers:

Q: When are you shipping the pins?

A: When I get every single winner to send me their address. So far 80% of them have. I’m hoping to ship them next weekend.

Q: When am I going to get my pin?

A: From 2-4 weeks after I send them. I don’t live in the USA and most of you do, so it will take a few weeks to arrive. Please be patient!

Q: Do I have to pay?

A: No! My contests are 100% free of charge and they always will be.

Q: When will you announce new winners?

A: If the original winner doesn’t reply to me after seven days, I will do a redraw for that certain pin.

Q: I really don’t want the contest to be closed, can I enter?

A: Unfortunately, no. I made the contest five weeks long and gave plenty of notice as to when I was closing the contest. If I let one person enter past the date, then I’ll have to let everyone because I like to play fair. So it’s just easier to have an official ending date.

Q: Where and when can I enter your next contest?

A: On my official website, http://www.victoriahecnar.com. There will be a tab that says Contest, click it and there will be a box to fill out, click Submit, and you are automatically entered. We do contests at every huge milestone. Our first was at 1,000 subscribers and the next will be at 25,000.

Q: What things are you giving away next?

A: Posters and t-shirts.

Q: Can I enter your contest(s) more than once?

A: No. For random draws such as the pins, you may only enter once. However I will do fan fiction contests in the future, and you can enter as many times as you want (with a different story, of course).

Q: I’m sad because I didn’t get a pin. Can I buy them?

A: Absolutely! Go to https://www.etsy.com/shop/goldenpressure and you can order as many pins as you’d like! They are $1 each, and about $5-$10 depending on where you live for a pack.

I hope this helped answer your question(s)! If there’s anymore, leave a comment here or on my channel. As of 2015-05-03, here are the winners as listed:

Freddy:  Daniela Vazquez

Chica: Miranda Shaw

Bonnie: Jenna Parker

Foxy: Tyler Van Tuinen

Golden Freddy: Alejandro Ortiz

Toy Freddy: Carlos Hernandez

Toy Chica: James Wright (We had to choose a new winner because James did not respond.)

Toy Bonnie: Robo Spongie

Balloon Boy: Joshua Bowyer

The Puppet/Marionette: Vorreon Johnson

I’m so glad everyone had fun during this contest. Hopefully I reach 25,000 soon so we can begin the next, which will be a fan fiction/fan art contest!

New YouTube Channel

From retro video game vlogs to videos of my hamster eating pizza, I finally decided the route (and the final, official route) that I will be heading in with my new YouTube channel. I will be doing vlogs and playing video games. I’m going to upload 1-2 new videos per week. Thus far, I beat 20/20/20/20 mode on Five Nights at Freddy’s. For those of you who know about this game, I’m sure you know that’s a pretty big deal! Only several people in the world can beat that mode without a cheat. And I’ll be uploading a vlog later on tonight. I can’t wait, it’s going to be a lot of fun. I know having a YouTube channel takes a lot of time investment but I think I can handle it! So if you could subscribe, that would be awesome. More blogs coming soon. Thanks everyone!

The Day I Started Blogging

Since it’s less than two days away until the new year, I decided to write a blog post about blog posts. Literally. So today’s topic is: why I started to blog. I definitely don’t blog as much as I should, but for what I do, I like it. Blogging’s fun. It’s like an online journal for the whole world to read. Somewhere you can place everything you love and write about anything that interests you at all. When I first got my blog, I just wanted it to be a website about me, my novels, my acting career, and my motivational speaking career. Then as time went on, I realized that WordPress was specifically designed to be a blogging platform. So, I began to write more blogs. A lot of opinion pieces, influential quotes, stuff like that. Then as I acted a bit more and did a public speaking event, I realized that juggling three things (being a novelist, actress, and public activist) was too much for me to handle as a career and I just wanted one thing to focus on. Since I’ve been writing books since a little girl, I decided on dropping the acting and motivational speaking titles and just continue on with writing. This is why my blogs are a lot more wordy now, rather than just quotes like they used to be. But I do love quotes still! You probably noticed. My favourite author and I talk sometimes (I know, she’s totally awesome) and she told me that publishers enjoy looking at blog posts and that every good author should have one. Right on! I’m going to stop rambling on now. But in conclusion, what I thought about the day I started writing on my blog was: “Writing’s fun. Blogs are fun. Let’s do this.” And so I have! Oh, and, I get to proclaim my obsession for the colour pink. Also in case you haven’t noticed, which you probably have.

Have a great week!

100ᵗʰ Blog!

100

Wow . . . can you believe it?! Neither can I! I started this blog in February 2014, and here we are, December 2014! Thank you to all of my readers, whether you’re a reader of my book, blog, or both! Writing blogs on my website these past few months have been so fun, and I know that I’m going to continue to be a blogger (and hopefully vlogger eventually!) for many years to come! So once again, thanks so much for everyone’s support. It means the world to me! I love you guys! xoxo
