Who is Victoria Hecnar?

From a young age, Plains Cree author Victoria Hecnar was interested in literature and the English language. She began writing novels and short stories as a child. Her first novel, titled Five Hearts, was written in 2009. Victoria then scrapped the first draft of Five Hearts, and rewrote the story as Mackenzie High in 2012. Mackenzie High consists of the same characters as her first novel with a revamped storyline. Like the Mackenzie Highers, Victoria auditioned and was accepted to a gifted arts high school for drama. After high school, Victoria attended college and earned a diploma in Early Childhood Education, then completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Creative Writing with a minor in Indigenous Studies. She is currently taking part in a mentorship program with Audible to write her newest novel, one that focuses on Indigeneity. Along with blogging and writing novels/poetry, Victoria runs a YouTube channel and uploads a variety of content, including reviews and gaming videos. I love gaming, writing, blogging, and spending time with my fiancé Jacob, my cat Katie, and my guinea pig Fluffy! I also love shopping, traveling, exercising, coffee, and good food.
